Recladding mishaps foiled by tough new standards

Auckland council has introduced a new process to check the recladding of buildings so that owners have greater confidence in the quality of remedial work.

Three new inspection types will be carried out before and during the work (along with a final inspection) will ensure the work is code compliant.

The inspections will be done by specialist building officers.
